Service issues detract from adequate stay

poor service unclear hotel
The breakfast included a good variety of items and met basic expectations.
The service proved unacceptable. Staff refused us drinks late in the evening, though we had just finished dinner. The hotel appears unsure whether it functions as a bar or a restaurant. Prioritising restaurant seating over bar patrons seems bad for overall customer satisfaction.

some issues

poor service refused drink
The breakfast was quite good and got me ready for the day.
The service was far from ideal. We wanted a drink at 9:15 pm, but we were denied after having dinner. My daughter came to pick up her grandson, BUT she was also told she couldn't have a drink.

adequate stay

friendly staff cosy feel appalling service early refusal
the staff was friendly, i appreciated that. breakfast had good options. the pub had a cosy feel, though it was a little small. there was plenty of parking around the pub.
i was refused a drink quite early. the service felt appalling, i did not expect that. it was disappointing when the restaurant overflowed into the bar area. i think the hotel needs to define if it is a bar or a restaurant.
