THE building has beautiful gardens and a historic feel. Rooms WERE comfortable. The indoor pool was a bonus. Good meals ARE available in the restaurant. Staff WERE friendly and helpful.
THE bed WAS terrible. THE mattress WAS worn. I ended up with SEVERE backpain the next day. THE bathroom extractor was noisy and broken. I WOULD not GO again.

Underwhelming Stay, Some Issues Noted

basic room slow service
The room I had was a bit of a letdown. The pictures online showed something much nicer, but the reality was more basic. It was like the hotel was charging too much for what I got. the dinner service was slow. I had to wait a long time for my food to arrive and even had to remind the staff about my dessert.

My cottage room included a private seating area. I also had tea, coffee, milk, water and biscuits available. The hotel offered fantastic dog facilities and this was important for me. Food served was good pub grub and reasonably priced, I thought.
The bathroom needs updates. There was some mold in the shower area and around the bath. The sealant should be replaced. Charging my electric toothbrush was not possible.
