Review summary
Based on recent reviews

The Bridge Hotel is frequently praised for its beautiful location near the lake, offering convenient access for walks and stunning views of the fells or mountains. Guests often highlight the exceptional breakfast with various hot options and enjoy dining at the Walkers bar, where the Steak and Ale Pie is a particular favorite; plus, it's nice to see the pooches there where they bring a doggy dinner for them. Some guests have noted that the evening meal could be improved with a wider choice of options, but overall, many find the stay to be a special escape, appreciating the car park's availability and the comfortable rooms, some of which feature a relaxing bath and even soundproofing.

a few issues overshadowed the stay

poor servicefaulty system
the service in the bar was not good (and it's the only place to eat nearby). the system they use did not seem to work properly. we waited for service and felt forgotten. i think they rely on people passing through regardless of service quality.

Lovely Stay with Excellent Service

private car parkclean roompolite staffevening food menu
My recent visit was nice. The car park's availability was particularly useful, given how busy the area gets on weekends. I especially appreciated the clean room and advertised amenities. All the staff were exceedingly polite. They really looked after us .
The evening meal was okay but nothing special (I have to be honest). I think the restaurant could improve their evening food menu to provide a wider choice of options. That would really elevate the dining experience.
Facilities
9/10
The location is perfect for exploring local fells, plus, the hotel offers convenient bus services to Keswick from a stop near the premises, I found it very useful (it is an adventure in itself!).
Dining
9/10
Breakfast offered excellent options and the service was super. I particularly enjoyed selecting a different hot breakfast each day from the varied menu. The lounge area provided a relaxing spot for afternoon tea and scones.
Rooms
10/10
Every room ensures comfort and warmth. The room had a bath which was nice after long hikes. I enjoyed the views from the room overlooking the river and farmland. It was lovely.
