underwhelming stay despite the views

overlooked detail turndown service
the location is undeniably beautiful with picturesque views of the lake.
I was quite disappointed that the turndown service i requested was not provided. The room remained exactly as i had left it and this detail felt overlooked..

a wonderful stay

polite staff fabulous food great pairings spacious bathroom
The staff at reception were very polite and professional. i found the food to be fabulous, both breakfast and dinner. the wine pairings with dinner were great. I really enjoyed them. the bathroom was spacious and it had a very high-tech loo.
The bar area was disorganized. It seemed difficult to get drinks for the lounge.

The hotel has a private boat called 'albatross', which offers lake cruises. The skipper and his mate provided excellent, informative company. afternoon tea is available and different from usual offerings. the hotel has amazing views.

small portion uncomfortable bed
the main entrance hall has a very nice design it met my expectations
the dinner was disappointing portions were small and the food did not taste very good my lobster and prawns salad had only a few prawns and two small pieces of lobster i also noticed the bed was not comfortable it was like i was sleeping in the middle of two mattresses.

The setting had beautiful lake views. The service was friendly and efficient.
Our food was sadly poor, with small portions and badly cooked meals. Only one of the four meals was edible. Staff was not that bothered when we pointed out we could not eat our meals.

inexperienced staff general disorganization
i found several aspects needing improvement. the staff seemed somewhat inexperienced. there was a general sense of disorganization evident throughout the hotel. the staff also failed to offer assistance in cutting the cake, a birthday cake was presented without a knife or server.

excellent location building charm friendly staff small bedroom cramped feeling awkward bathroom
the location proved excellent. the building has charm of a manor house. i found the staff very friendly (i mean, really friendly!) and helpful.
i found the bedroom quite small. it felt a bit cramped. also, there was no door separating the bathroom and i found it awkward sometimes.
