a fantastic experience!

i stayed one night. the receptionist guided me to order fast, as i arrived shortly before the kitchen closed. i ordered venison sausages with mash, vegetables, and gravy. the bar featured an excellent selection of real ale and several open fires. the venison sausages were AMAZING!!! very large and succulent, paired with creamy mash and crispy cabbage.
the washbasin did not drain properly. staff were aware of a plumbing issue. removing the plunge plug did not fix it and the plug itself was disgusting. previous debris came to the water surface, unacceptable.

the location is quiet. the area offers a very picturesque setting. it is a great base for visiting hadrian's wall, offering convenient access to historical sites and scenic landscapes.

my room included ancient beams across the bedroom ceiling. the room was spacious and clean. the bed was very comfy, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep after a day of travel.
