Decent Location, Issues With Cleanliness

grubby carpets oily batter
I found my stay somewhat disappointing. The carpets looked quite grubby. I also noticed dead flies on the windowsills and a considerable amount of dust. The provided hairdryer felt sticky. I had to use a towel to hold it. Food in the evening was disappointing. The batter on the fish was soaked in oil. I couldn't eat it.

Adequate Stay at the Inn

breakfast choice friendly staff small room musty smell
The breakfast offered a good choice. The staff were friendly, they did offer help. I liked the location of the inn. A walk through woods was close to the hotel.
The room was smaller. I did not have much space for my dog's bed. The room smelled musty. I needed to keep windows open for air.

a fantastic experience!

real ale open fire creamy mash
i stayed one night. the receptionist guided me to order fast, as i arrived shortly before the kitchen closed. i ordered venison sausages with mash, vegetables, and gravy. the bar featured an excellent selection of real ale and several open fires. the venison sausages were AMAZING!!! very large and succulent, paired with creamy mash and crispy cabbage.
the washbasin did not drain properly. staff were aware of a plumbing issue. removing the plunge plug did not fix it and the plug itself was disgusting. previous debris came to the water surface, unacceptable.
Facilities
