decent stay

friendly staffexcellent breakfastsmall roomhard mattress
the staff are friendly and helpful. the breakfast had plenty of choice and it was excellent. i literally walked out onto the pedestrianized main street. the location is excellent.
the room was very small but clean. if you like a hard mattress then that's what you get. the toilet was hemmed in, knees touched heated towel rail! strange having to pay for everything on arrival. i never had to do that before.

the breakfast included fresh items and was tasty.
the email confirmation promised a gin and tonic alongside prosecco and strawberries, but the duty manager refused to honor it. he was angry about this and banged the drink on the table. i found his attitude offensive. i paid £510 for two nights.

I liked that the location was central. i also appreciated the onsite restaurant. The food was fabulous. the room's decor was also lovely and it was very clean.
I did not like the cold breakfast. It was dry. there was also a charge for my dog, but there was no dog bed. i found that the car park is no longer free.
