adequate stay
cute staff high standards missing lift basic room
i stayed one night. the staff were cute and very competent. the hotel was spotlessly clean. i ate in the restaurant for an evening meal. the standards were high. (a highlight)
sadly, the lift was not working . it was missing completely, not just out of order. i was offered room service as a solution to get breakfast upstairs. the room had no carpet and felt more basic than usual.

Wonderful Dog-Friendly Stopover
convenient location clean exterior nice grassy areas
This hotel is very convenient, especially if travelling on the motorway (the M6). The exterior is clean and cute. I found the restaurant mezzanine area reserved for people with dogs very convenient. The grassy areas are nice for dog walks, unlike typical litter-strewn service areas.
The room felt slightly stuffy and was hard to ventilate, even with the window open.

super easy access to scotland!
spacious room lovely grounds
the room was spacious and clean. the bed was comfortable and contributed to a restful night. i found the grounds lovely for a morning stroll before hitting the road again.
the limited menu did not offer many appealing options. i ended up paying for a meal i did not fully enjoy because of this.

dog welcome spacious room great breakfast
this was my second visit. the staff welcomed our dog. they provided feeding bowls and a treat. the bar allowed us to eat with her. the room included a large window and was spacious. breakfast offered a good range of options.
The bathroom floor felt cold. A thin layer of insulation could help.

quiet place clean exterior scandinavian decor dog area
It is very convenient off the motorway. i found it a quiet, peaceful place. the exterior is clean! the decor inside has a scandinavian look. the restaurant mezzanine area was reserved for people with dogs. I appreciated this.
the older male receptionist did not give a friendly reception on arrival when i arrived with my dog! he just said ' oh and that's the dog.

cork flooring open window
Breakfast had quite a bit of choice, and the table I got faced the water.
I found out my room type wasn't available on the ground floor. It also wasn't located in the part of the building that had a lift. I was then moved to a room that allowed pets. The cork flooring gave the room a very plain feel. I struggled to properly ventilate the room even with the window open.

beautiful scenery comfortable bed thoughtful touches
I enjoyed the beautiful scenery including the water features. The bed was comfortable. I was happy with thoughtful touches for my dog like bowls and treats in the room. The breakfast was lovely with the hot food made to order.
I noticed the limited menu options in the restaurant.
