The Dalesman Country Inn is often described as a cosy and beautiful inn, ideally situated for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Sedbergh. Guests frequently appreciate the spacious rooms, with some mentioning the modern amenities and the enjoyment of having a bath in the bedroom; one guest was particularly impressed with the remotes for the blinds and windows. mixed feelings about this stay

discolored grout buffet restocking
the room needed some attention. i noticed the shower grout looked discolored, and one of the bedside lamps flickered. also, the breakfast buffet seemed a bit picked over by 9 am. items were not replenished quickly enough, a minor inconvenience, but it detracted from the experience. i expect more attention to these details. after all

Mixed Experience, Issues with Room Cleanliness

I found the room cleanliness questionable with quite a few cobwebs. Even more concerning, the bed seemed to have a broken component. I'm not one to usually complain, but those issues significantly impacted my comfort. Housekeeping definitely needs to be more thorough with their checks.

raw lamb fat inadequate compensation
i thought i would try the trio of lamb, supposedly a local specialty. the lamb fat proved completely raw. it was chewy and inedible really. the chef defended it at first. the manager intervened but the compensation felt inadequate..

excellent staff delicious breakfast overpriced food small portion
the staff were excellent from start to finish!!! i booked a large table, as i traveled as part of a larger group, and they catered for us fabulously. nothing was too much trouble. alex, the barman, was great. breakfast was really good too.
i thought the food was overpriced. my veggie ravioli main course comprised two pieces of ravioli and some garnish, costing around £25. this was not a main course portion. i had to add fries to the order on receipt of the meal.
