BRATHAY HALL - BRATHAY TRUST, Ambleside

Brathay Hall provides free parking onsite for all guests and a business centre with meeting and banquet facilities. The hotel offers a shared lounge and TV area, along with a beautiful garden and terrace for relaxation. Safety measures include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, and a safety deposit box.

Accommodation includes double, twin, and single en-suite rooms, plus shared dormitory options located around the Brathay Hall Estate. Scafell lodges offer spacious Superior Double or Twin rooms with French balcony patio doors and views toward Ambleside. Loughrigg rooms provide compact single lodges surrounded by woodland, each with a fridge, TV, and private bathroom.

Lake Windermere and the Lake District National Park surround the estate, with hiking, cycling, and canoeing activities accessible directly from the grounds. Front-facing rooms provide scenic views of Windermere Lake, and a short 20-minute walk leads to the lake shore and boathouse.

The hotel accepts dogs in designated rooms and provides a drying cupboard and space outside each room for muddy gear. A small surcharge applies for dog-friendly rooms, and some lodges include a fridge and a large door or window for dog access. Guest reviews note that staff offer a welcome goodie bag for canine companions.

Brathay Hall functions as a residential training centre for Brathay Trust, offering team-building activities such as rowing boats, balancing challenges, and high-wire thrills like the pamper pole. The on-site business centre and meeting facilities support corporate workshops, and the shared lounge provides space for group discussions. A cold breakfast can be arranged on request, and the estate's proximity to Ambleside allows groups to dine out at local venues.
