mixed feelings about my stay

central locationearly bar closureinefficient heating
The location was quite close to town. It was good for accessing local amenities.
The bar CLOSED early. It was before 9pm one night, a detail absent from the hotel information. The room was dated and noticeably COLD throughout the night. I could not adjust the heating to make it more comfortable.

the location was acceptable as a base for exploring the lake district i suppose
the room labeled garden double balcony had a serious problem with noise insulation i could hear conversations next door far too clearly this made relaxation difficult the balcony itself needed cleaning it was covered in bird droppings the noise and lack of cleanliness detracted from any potential enjoyment of the outdoor space

Acceptable Stay with Some Disappointments

inefficient heatingcramped shower
The room seemed a bit dated, and the heating wasn't very effective (I was quite cold at night). The shower was also rather cramped. For the price paid, I expected a bit more in terms of room quality. Some maintenance seems necessary.
