a sanctuary of sweetness
cosy room hearty breakfast peaceful location
we enjoyed a very cosy double room. the breakfast was hearty, and i was able to watch red squirrels munch on hazelnuts in the garden. the location was peaceful, and the views of the surrounding hills.
The nearest pub is a 15 minute walk. It felt a little far at times.

the guest house is set back into woodlands with lovely views. it is a quiet area with many walks that start nearby. i thought it was perfect for hiking.

the conservatory is very light and relaxing, with a view of the garden. breakfast includes many options to choose from, which i found appealing. the wildlife is also a fantastic attraction!!!

Decent Location, Some Issues
dog attack pet charge
The location was suited for walking. The breakfast was lovely.
The house dogs attacked our old dog. It bit his neck. The owners seemed blasé about the attack. They only offered to refund the £10 pet charge.

Wildlife and Walks Abound
charming room grazing deer
The room was charming and felt so fresh and clean. I got to see deer grazing from my window, a beautiful thing. Breakfast felt special. I watched birds and red squirrels from the conservatory, they were eating!

pleasant stay
timely breakfast fine location shared bathroom long walk
i appreciated the timely breakfasts they were fabulous. the location was fine with hikes accessible right from the door. it was also close to wasdale and the ratty train station.
the bathroom was shared by three other rooms and sometimes it was occupied. i had to wait a bit during peak hours for it. the nearest pub was a 15 minute walk. it was a bit inconvenient.
