an okay stay, but could be better
tatty bed sheets dirty room
the bedsheets had holes, i thought that was pretty bad. it looked clean. but they were still worn. when i moved the bedside tables, i found a lot of dirt and rubbish. it seems like the room hadn't been properly cleaned recently. it wasn't great

My room was clean and tidy. The bed was good. The location is good being about 15 minutes walk from the train station. It was easy to walk to the main square with bars and eateries.
It was noisy from the pub below until 1 AM. I knew that it was clearly stated though..

Breakfast was lovely. It included a full cooked breakfast with toast. There was also a selection of cereals, jams, juices, tea and coffee. The breakfast cost £5 extra per person. I think that is very reasonable.

the hotel had free parking, very helpful. the manager was very friendly, he offered great service. the location was central and provided easy access to various amenities. it suited my needs for a quick overnight commute.
the bathroom had mould and lacked a non-slip mat. the room was not serviced , i expected fresh towels. these small details affected my experience.

i appreciated the staff changing my room. i asked for a room away from the road, and they accommodated me. the bed was warm and comfortable. it included a tv and tea and coffee.
the bathroom required attention, especially the shower. i noticed the need for new silicone. i also found the toilet was not clean, disappointing.

i found a complimentary pool table near the bar. the car park behind the building was free. the staff helped locate and mail a device i had forgotten overseas.
the noise coming from the pub below continued until 1 am. this was a cheap night in a city location. i think a refurbishment of the place could improve my stay.

I really liked the smart TV in the room. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was also nice and warm.
My main issue was that the carpets were threadbare and dirty. It definitely needs some attention.
