the staff were helpful , especially nikki and al , for my two-night stay. nikki showed consideration , i was a solo female traveler , and i felt safe. i found the bathroom was big , and the shower was nice.
the breakfast required pre-ordering , and continental options were limited , i missed fresh fruit. the tea tray in the room was poorly stocked , and i had to request more items.

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast included cooked-to-order options served at the table. The location provided good views of the surrounding fells directly from the bedroom window. I found the rural setting quiet, situated just off the A66, which has regular bus services to Penrith.
The pillows in the room felt a little worn.

I was disappointed to find out that I needed to fill out a breakfast form the night before, limiting spontaneity. There was also very little choice available on that form.

the location proved acceptable for exploring the lake district.
The breakfast policy seemed inflexible. Guests must preorder the day before. there was no fruit or yogurt provided as lighter options. getting fresh towels also proved problematic.

rules based customer serviceno breakfast
The customer service felt very rule-based. I had to sit where directed, and I was required to preorder breakfast the day before with a specific dining time. I forgot to submit the form one evening. Upon arrival at breakfast, I was told that there would be no breakfast (no form, no breakfast!). (I swear I'm not making this up!)
