a comfortable stay indeed
tavern bar beer offer helpful staff
the tavern bar had good atmosphere for the england game viewing. beer offers were available, and staff were helpful with my needs. the food tasted homemade. i await the hotel's full refurbishment.

the reception staff was helpful with a slightly later check out. this let me use the pool again after breakfast. this allowed me to do that without feeling rushed.

breakfast included good choices between hot menu and continental options. the staff were superb from reception, to the cleaning staff. all the bar and waiting staff were friendly too.

leisure facilities opened until 8pm and my grandchildren enjoyed it. the pool was a good size and had a jacuzzi. there was also a sauna and a steam room available.

the hotel is set in beautiful gardens. amazing views are visible from the hotel. the bus stop is just outside the hotel. you can easily get back from keswick.

cozy lounge steam room cooked option moldy changing room dirty shower head shower disrepair
My room included a TV for the children. The lounge area was cosy. The pool, steam room, and sauna facilities were perfect for my kids. Breakfast included both continental and cooked options.
The changing rooms are moldy. They are in disrepair. The showers need cleaning. The shower heads are dirty.

Relaxing Getaway
helpful staff pool facilities
I found the staff very helpful . Breakfast included many continental options and hot food. The gardens were well kept and I saw wildlife there. A hare was even sauntering around the car park. The pool facilities were clean. I particularly enjoyed the hot tub, sauna and steam room. They seemed top quality.
The bike racks outside do not seem secure. I feel secure bike storage would be an improvement. The hotel website advertises bike storage. This usually means a locked storage room.

The hotel is in a quiet area. I saw dark skies at night, and the residents lounge had comfy sofas and a log burner. The location is ideal for walking the Cumbria Way.

soggy batter tough bacon
The pool was acceptable. It served its purpose for a quick swim.
The food quality disappointed me. the batter on the fish was soggy, suggesting it was reheated. breakfast was even more substandard. it feels like the hotel is cutting corners now.

leisure facilities swimming pool tired decor marked furniture
The swimming POOL was lovely for relaxation after my travels. The view from my room was fine. I could see the garden and a nearby meadow.
The hotel DECOR appears VERY tired. The furniture seemed old and marked. Cleaners didn't do much each day. I ended up making my bed.
