Acceptable stay overall
excellent service fresh food small room heavy duvet
The breakfast was fantastic. Service was excellent, and the food tasted really fresh. I couldn't have asked for anything more (especially the pastries!).
The room i stayed in felt quite small. The bed was smaller than expected. The duvet was heavy, uncomfortable because the weather was warm.

impersonal check-in unattended service
The check-in process lacked warmth , and felt quite impersonal. I also found that my dessert order was overlooked , requiring me to follow up. Leaving without breakfast, included, was disappointing. This happened after being directed to a cramped table where I could not comfortably sit. I found the lack of attentiveness frustrating.

The staff was accommodating to my late arrival. My room had basic but clean amenities including white linens. Breakfast was delicious and the morning staff were super friendly (I especially liked the coffee!). The location near Coniston Water is great.

Acceptable stay with some drawbacks
small gap slamming doors
The food was good at the pub it was a hearty breakfast for a full day of walking.
The room lacked a window I was not expecting this based on the photos or description. The door had been broken before and was not properly fixed leaving a small gap. I heard doors slamming and other guests coming and going constantly.
