what a totally gorgeous stay!

beautiful furniture live piano dining experience huge glasses
i am so excited. we totally loved staying here. the furniture in the rooms was beautiful and authentic. it. i decided to have dinner there after talking to peter. the live piano music. the prosecco glasses were huge and that's a plus for me.
the only tiny thing i can find that wasn't perfect was that i found no phone in the room. it wasn't a big deal as i have my mobile, but just something to mention.

breakfast was yummy and quick, a massive help when you are excited to start the day. peter provided a mini tour. he shared history facts about the castle. it was so interesting.

I enjoyed walking around the extensive grounds. It was a big historical experience. i spent ages at the norman keep museum. It was really interesting and well presented. the hotel is unique. it is also generally very well kept.

historic stay

lovely cottages timber walls norman keep
I found the cottages lovely. Breakfast in a dining hall dating back to the 15th century with timber walls made it special. I enjoyed the climb and the view from the Norman keep.

The hotel features secure parking who arrive by car. This is a convenience for those traveling with vehicles. There is also a Norman tower within the courtyard. It offers an excellent example of historical architecture.

I stayed in the tufton room that included two double beds providing ample sleeping space. A sink was present in the room and a modern bathroom was located across the hall offering updated amenities.

My room was clean and quite large. The staff were helpful and courteous (they really made the difference). I also enjoyed the guided tour of the castle.
There was no tv in my room.

A authentic experience!

extensive history beautiful furnishings attentive staff norman keep
Staying in a castle with such extensive history was very nice. The furnishings were beautifully kept. The staff were very attentive , i enjoyed the delicious food during dining , it was even more perfect with piano playing. I had access to the grounds including the Norman keep. It was an lovely experience.
The castle grounds had limited signage , it made navigating the area slightly challenging upon arrival.

modern bathroom castle stroll friendly staff lovely meal
The room had a modern ensuite bathroom. I enjoyed a stroll around the castle. The bar offered drinks. A three course meal was available, and it was lovely. Guests spoke to other guests, and the staff were friendly. the bridge offered great photo opportunities.
Breakfast options were limited. I wished there had been more variety.
