Great Service, Wonderful Staff

helpful staff lovely setting

I found the staff unbelievably helpful . They were very accommodating with every request I had. The grounds are fantastic. I found it a lovely setting. The location is also ideal for exploring the nearby fells.

My room's carpet had some grime patches, which affected the overall cleanliness. The hotel should look into refreshing the carpets. Otherwise, I was happy with my accommodation and time there.

Really good Service and Cute Atmosphere

helpful staff maintained garden delicious food public areas

I found the staff particularly helpful and accommodating. They managed a large event with ease and still attended to my needs promptly. The room opened directly onto a well maintained garden. It was convenient. The food on offer was delicious, especially the breakfast, varied and plentiful. The hotel permitted dogs in all public areas , a very good thing.

The corridors were slightly dimly lit , a minor point.

loose tiles hot water

Honestly, the room was a bit of a letdown. I booked what they called an executive double room, but the door to the garden barely hung on, thanks to a missing hinge or two. bathroom tiles were loose. i even managed to slice my foot on one in the middle of the night. The shower looked like it had been growing its own penicillin farm. the mouldy shower cubicle and detached door really put a damper on things, mouldy shower cubicle, detached door

helpful staff comprehensive menu great value

I stayed in the hotel recently and i'm thrilled. the hotel staff were helpful and prepared packed lunches when we requested! the comprehensive menu included a decent selection of beers at the bar. the all inclusive package was a great value. I really enjoyed soup and sandwiches at lunch.

the building felt a little tired at some places.

corroded taps dated room

The building is quite lovely and the dining room provides views of the gardens.

The room was quite dated and showed considerable wear. The bathroom floor did not appear clean and the sink taps were corroded, also scarcely functional. I cannot recommend this hotel in its present condition.

the grounds was a delight with spaces for my dogs TO roam. the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is in a state of disrepair. It looked VERY old.
